our department keeps a status board with the names of everyone in the department listed down the side of a white board. when a person is out, we update the board so that people know what's going on... who's in & who's out.
when i came in today, 2 people in the department were marked down as taking a vacation day. when i left (at 2:30) this is what the board looked like.
